Spanish domain has always been a very important one regarding the market it represents. In past, who didn’t have headquarters in Spain and right on the name couldn’t register such a domain. Consequently the Spanish domain is one of the domains least registered in Europe.

From November 8th 2005 will get off the liberalization of .es domains.
There will be no particular requirements anymore, everyone will be able to register a domain .es without any obligations of demonstrating the rights for that exact name. This important modification of registration rules will, in fact, give cybersquatters a possibility to register domains corresponding with famous names.

Already now and until November 7th we can forward pre-registration requests for the domains with this extension. The inquiries will be processed in order of arrival and in respect of Authority’s criteria.

- November 8th will be accepted the inquiries for domains which start with one number or one letter from a to b included.
- November 9th will be accepted the inquiries for domains which start with one number or one letter from a to e included.
- November 10th will be accepted the inquiries for domains which start with one number or one letter from a to n included.
- From November 11th any inquiry will be accepted.
