The Sunrise Period begins

The Sunrise Period for the registration of second level ME domains started and will finish on the 20th of May. To take part in this phase the company must have a registered trademark, applied for before the 26.06.2006.
If the same domain is requested by more companies in this phase, it will be issued by putting it up to auction. A domain registered during the Sunrise Period will have a minimum duration of five years.

Registration orders arrived by Friday, May 16th, 2008 will be accepted.

.ME domains requested in Landrush period - from the 6th to the 26th of June - can be registered by whoever asks for them, with no particular requirements. Multiple requests will be put up to auction and the consequent registrations will have a two-year validity.

From the 17th of July on the registration of .ME domains will be open to everyone. The requested domains will be issued on a 'first come first served' basis. The domain will have a two-year validity.
