Ancora non c'è stata una firma ufficiale ma pare proprio che l'ICANN, l'ente di supervisione dei domini internet, stia per ottenere una estensione di tre anni del contratto che lo lega al Ministero del Commercio americano, un contratto per il quale espleta funzioni essenziali di "governo" del sistema dei domini che interessa tutto il mondo.

Stichting Internet Domeinregistratie Nederland (SIDN), the Netherlands Foundation for Internet Domain Name Registration, has thrown open the formerly restricted .nl country code top level domain name to all applicants.
The new regulations come into effect this week and will allow corporations and private individuals alike unrestricted registrations throughout the .nl domain name space.
