VeriSign selling domain name unit

VeriSign is selling 85% of its Network Solutions business, which provides .com and .net internet domain name registrations, to Pivotal Private Equity for approximately $US100 million.

Si tiene i registri dei domini ma le operazioni transattive sui domini passano a Pivotal Private Equity che acquista Network Solutions. Un'operazione da 100 milioni di dollari mentre si riaffaccia lo spettro di Site Finder.

VeriSign will give a 30- to 60-day notice before resuming a controversial and temporarily suspended feature that redirected many .com and .net domains, company representatives said Wednesday.

Domini .eu, in tanti li pre-registrano

Per la prima volta la polizia inglese rilascia un warning internazionale sulle attività di un'impresa britannica che faceva pre-registrare i domini .eu, attirando molti in trappola.
